The HHA Program is for 40 hrs. The classroom training is for 20 hours and internship is for 20 hours. The internship is held at a Nursing Home under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

When you complete your clinical training, you will take the California certification exam. The exam is administered by an independent testing organization authorized by the State of California and is given in two parts. The first part is a multiple-choice examination. The second part is a practical exam where you show the evaluator your skills. There is a separate charge for this exam paid to the administrator of the exam.

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to describe and provide safe and competent personal care and procedures to clients in a long-term care setting; provide safety, cleanliness and infection control nursing measures; utilize professional and therapeutic communication techniques and prepare, complete and correct documentation of care delivered; identify and apply legal and ethical principles related to the role of the nursing assistant the rights of residents; describe quality of life issues, common long-term diseases/conditions, and related nursing care and rehabilitation techniques; describe basic principles of nutrition and types of therapeutic diets and correctly calculate mathematical problems related to the HHA nursing role and care.
Critical Care Training Center offers a flexible schedules for HHA, including week-day morning, week-day evening and week-end courses. Week-day morning and week-end sessions take 5 days to complete, week-day evening program lasts 9 days.
